The October meeting will be held on the 5th of October under the tent at Harbourgate Marina. Both Social at 6:30pm, meeting at 7:00pm. The August July meeting was held back at the Sunset harbour Club House. It sure is a great facility to get together in. John opened the meeting by welcoming everyone and trying to get info on how the fishing has been. The general idea is that most days it has been tough. Inshore heat has kept the fish inactive and getting ofshore, on most days has been tough. However Todd Helf has been able to weigh in some citation fish. Check the leader board for his new posts. Past President Patrick reported that many Cobia are in the area and that he had several hookups at the same time. The Fish of the month for August are: Amberjack offshore and Toadfish inshore. Weigh in at Platts. John and Tournament Chairman Alan went over the Rumble and discussed getting help in September while Alan is gone. He is looking for a volunteer to answer the phone questions that come in. If you can help, give one of them a call. Patrick reported success on getting another sponsor which is really needed. Thanks Patrick! Patrick also reported he was asked if the Rumble could be changed to allow being able to fish either one of two days. Due to Swansboro having their tournament the same weekend as the Rumble. The Board will discuss it but it has been gone over before with the results being no. John thanked everyone that worked the July tournament. He said the final figures are not in but we did make money and it would be turned over to charity when received. The Next Club Fish day is the 21st of August. Meet at Harbour Gate Marina at 6:00pm on the 20th to go over it. Ron McManus brought in some pictures that were taken by sonar from above of the Jim Caudel reef. They were quite good and showed the reef well. Jerry Dilsaver brought a fully equipted fishing Kayak and put on a great seminar or how everythig worked and it's purpose. Thanks Jerry.
