1. Only one primary prize per boat.
2. In case of a tie in weight, prize money will be awarded to the first fish weighed in at that weight.
3. Tournament registration and fees per boat are $200.00 through September 10th, 2008 and $250 September 11th till end of registration October 10th, 2008.
4. Tournament Purse: All monies collected in entry fees, less an amount retained for operating expenses, will be awarded in cash prizes. 1st Place is guaranteed based on 1 paid entry. 2nd thru 20th Places are based on 150 paid entries and will increase and decrease proportional with the number of boats entered in the tournament.
5. Payment of the entry fee constitutes a representation by each entrant that he or she has read and fully understands the Tournament Rules, and that he or she will abide by such rules and the decisions of the Tournament's Committee and personnel.
6. The Tournament Committee must approve any entree submitted to the Tournament. If not approved, 100% of the entry fee will be refunded. This is not an Open Tournament.
7. Final registration will be on Friday October 10th, 2008 from 3:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. at HarbourGate Marina. There will be one Captains Meeting on October 10th, 2008 at 7:00pm. All participating Captains or their representatives must be present for any rule changes or clarifications. Captains are responsible for being informed and understanding all rules.
8. There will be no bad weather day. Fishing will be at the Captains' choice, unless The Rules Committee with the guidance of the Federal Safety Authorities decides that the weather might jeopardize the safety of the participants.
9. There will be a Check-out. Check-out begins at 6:30am. The location of the Check-out point will be announced at the Captains meeting.
10. No fishing lines will be in the water before 7:00am. You may not catch bait before 7:00am on the date of the tournament.
11. One fishing day constitutes a full Tournament; a full day fishing is four hours, with no refunds of entrant's fees. If for any reason, the Rumble In The Jungle Tournament Committee cancels the Tournament, 95% of all entry fees will be refunded by check, mailed within 30 days of cancellation.
12. With permission of the Rumble In The Jungle Tournament Committee, a boat may be substituted prior to 9:00pm prior to the day of fishing. There will be no refunds accepted as stated in the Official Rules.
13. Each participating boat must meet all Federal, State, and Local safety regulations for its size. All boats must be equipped with an operating Marine VHF-FM with channels 72 and 16. Tournament Committee will monitor channel 72.
13a. Any boat receiving a ticket for a violation from any Law Enforcement Agency during tournament hours will be disqualified.
14. Only six (6) lines per boat. Fishing must be done by hook and line, and the competition is limited to boats only.
15. Congregating: Two or more boats seen congregating during competition will be disqualified from competition. No boats may pass anything between boats for any reason, however, in the interest of safety, one boat may give aid to another, but must notify the Tournament Committee and receive prior approval.
16. Eligible Fish: King Mackerel (Scomberomorus Cavalla) only.
17. There will be only one (1) fish weight-in per boat.
18. No fish will be weighed in before 3:00pm Saturday, October 11th, 2008. All boats must pass check-in points and be in line by 4:30pm Saturday, October 11th, 2008. The location of the check-in point will be announced at the Captains Meeting. Late arrivals will be disqualified. All fish entered must be a minimum of 36 inches fork length. Please be conservation conscious and release any under size fish.
19. A Crew Member, Lady Angler, or Jr. Angler must sign all weigh-in tickets.
20. All fish must be brought in to the weigh-in station by the boat in which they were caught. The boat must be unassisted and operational on it's own power. All boats must be in the water in order to weigh-in fish.
21. No fish can be transported over land.
22. Mutilation: No cut or mutilated fish will be accepted. The use of nets is not permitted, except for gathering bait. Gaff marks are excluded. No frozen fish are allowed. All fish must be in fresh, edible condition and caught on the tournament day. All fish will be cut open, inspected and tested by marine biologist. The Weigh master will make all decisions regarding mutilation and fish condition. Any boat not adhering to the above will be disqualified. All fish weighed in become property of the Rumble In The Jungle King Mackerel Fishing Tournament.
23. The Jr. Angler must be registered on the entry form. The Jr. Angler must be under 16 years of age by the day of competition. The Jr. Angler must identify him/herself at weigh-in and accompany fish to scales. This is a secondary prize.
24. Lady Angler must be registered on the entry form and must identify herself at weigh-in and accompany fish to scales. Lady Angler must be at least 16 years old at the start of the tournament. This is a secondary prize.
25. All boats are eligible for one primary and one secondary prize.
26. All entrants agree to submit to a polygraph at the request of the Tournament. The results of the polygraph will be considered by the Tournament Committee, along with relevant information and at their sole discretion will determine whether the entrant will be disqualified from the Tournament. The decision of the Tournament Committee is final and binging regarding any protest.
27. Protest: All protest shall be accompanied by a $200.00 cash deposit, and shall be registered with the Tournament Committee no later than one hour after the last fish is weighed. If the protest is upheld, the $200.00 deposit will be returned. If not upheld, the deposit will become the property of the Tournament.
28. A Sponsor, Tournament Official, or Committee Member is eligible to fish and win any prize.
29. All decisions made by the Tournament Committee are final.
30. The State of South Carolina requires a Salt-Water Fishing License.
